Brooke Turbyfill

Brooke has a Bachelor of Science degree in English Education and 25+ years of experience in professional writing and editing. She worked as a nonprofit journalist for 15 of those years, helping global organizations share the breadth and depth of their impact. She spent an additional six years in education, serving in and out of the classroom in a variety of roles: teacher, communications director, and community relations coordinator. Brooke also built and continues to run a professional editing and ghostwriting services company, working with journalists, authors, and small businesses to engage local communities in their stories.

As the newest addition to the Gateway team, Brooke brings a big-picture, creative lens to grant writing that complements her research and journalistic background. She enjoys getting to know Gateway clients and discovering how she can help them impact a wider audience through grants and funding strategies.

Brooke lives in Rome, Georgia; she is married to James and is a mother to two teenagers. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, thrifting and listening to live music with her children.
