11th Annual Bird Dog Breakaway 2018

Hosted by Center for New Beginnings

September 29, 2018

It’s time for the 11th Annual Bird Dog Breakaway benefiting the Center for New Beginnings (CFNB), a nonprofit that offers healing and hope to children and adolescents with special needs (behavioral, educational, emotional, intellectual, physical) as well as their families and caregivers in Burke, Columbia, Richmond, Jefferson, Jenkins, Emanuel and Screven counties. We seek to address their major concerns, which include their child's progress, isolation from society, time and expense devoted to traveling to therapies, and the lack of confidence to act on their child’s behalf. We currently provide over 1500 direct therapy hours a month to children with disabilities ranging from general academic problems to specific disorders, regardless of their inability to pay. By providing a variety of services in our rural counties we make therapy accessible; by providing these services on a donation basis we make therapy possible.

This year’s Bird Dog Breakaway will consist of a 10K run, a 5K run, a 2 mile walk, and several children’s walks, including an Adaptive run/walk for our CFNB kids! Door prizes and awards follow the completion of all the races.

Don't miss bring a part of this community-wide anticipated event that attracts runners from surrounding cities and states. On behalf of those families and children, thank you for joining us to make a difference in their lives. One of our guiding principles is to create a “team approach” by serving as a bridge between families and service providers. Please join our team through your support of the Bird Dog Breakaway and the Center for New Beginnings. See you on race day!

When: September 29, 2018; 7:30-8:15 am - Registration; 8:30am - Races begin!

Where: Waynesboro City Park, Waynesboro, GA 30830
